Increase in doorstep scams and crimes
There has been a reported increase in doorstep scams and crimes - particularly targeting the elderly and vulnerable.  If you haven't already got one, front door Security Chains are inexpensive and easy to fit.

So, if you are home alone and feel vulnerable, whenever you answer the door remember to LOCK, STOP, CHAIN, CHECK.
LOCK: secure all your other outer doors as the person at the door may intend to distract you while an accomplice gets in through a back door
STOP: think about whether you’re expecting anyone
CHAIN: put the door chain on or look through the window or spyhole to see who’s there
CHECK: ask for an identity card and examine it carefully - you can always tell the caller to come back another time when someone will be with you.
REMEMBER YOU DON’T HAVE TO ANSWER THE DOOR TO COLD CALLERS IF YOU DON’T WANT TO.
The Sun Newspaper
Secondly, you may be aware of the Sun newspaper's ‘rule of six’ front page trademark infringement of the NW logo, this week.
The NWN Central Office have taken up this matter with the Sun and the ombudsmen; the use of the NW trademarked logo; the very negative portrayal and implication of NW members; and the organisation as 'snitches' rather than the reality which is focused on crime prevention and community strengthening, cohesion and resilience.
