Dear <<First Name>>
Burglary at Shapwick
A home has been burgled between 1:50pm and 2:12pm  on 2nd May in Monks Drive, Shapwick. The elderly resident was in the sitting room watching the television and got up and exited via the dining room. Upon entering the corridor, a man was spotted, described as a white male, 25 – 30 years of age with a round red face and short hair. He was questioned as to what he was doing there but made off quickly via the bathroom window.

The offender had attempted entry via the side door/porch area. However having jemmied the front door he was unable to gain access via the internal door. A bedroom window and bathroom window had both been forced open. Inside the property cupboard doors and a vanity unity were opened within a bedroom, together with a jewellery box left open on the bed. At present it appears nothing was stolen.

Any information please contact the Police on 101 quoting reference number: 5222103610 stating NHW release. Or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Thank you for your support.

Even if you are at home, please make sure your doors are locked and if you are going out it’s a good idea to leave a radio or TV on a talking channel so your property appears occupied.

If you see people acting suspiciously, or cars in suspicious circumstances please ring 999 as soon as possible.
Attached (PDF) is a message from Ashley JONES, Regional Fraud Protect Advisor.
He has 4 upcoming Fraud Awareness events from May to August 2022.
