Dear <<First Name>>
Police Information about Drink Spiking
What is drink spiking?
To spike a drink means to put alcohol or drugs into someone’s drink without their knowledge or permission. The aim may be to incapacitate someone enough to rob or sexually assault them, although sometimes it is intended as a joke – a bad joke.
Drink spiking is illegal and carries a sentence of up to ten years in prison. If a robbery, sexual assault or other criminal behaviour has taken place, the sentence may be even longer.

 E-Watch, a Free Service?
We have always striven to provide a free service, for we believe Neighbourhood Watch should be easily available to everyone.  But sadly, there is no such thing as a free service any more than there is a free lunch. E-watch has been funded by the fund-raising efforts of members prepared to organise Coffee Mornings etc, and by a generous donation from the COOP a few years ago.  Those of us who organised and ran those Coffee Mornings are now a good deal older and less able to do so and Covid has handicapped us as well.
But Covid has encouraged or even forced many of us to shop on-line and there is an easy way to raise money for e-watch at the same time. Polden Hills E-Watch is registered with easyfundraising, which means you can raise FREE donations for us every time you shop online. Over 6,000 shops and sites will donate to us when you use easyfundraising to shop with them – at no extra cost to yourself!
These donations really mount up and make a BIG difference to us, so we’d really appreciate it if you could take a moment to sign up and support us. It’s completely FREE and only takes a moment.
You can find our easyfundraising page at
Thank you so much!
