Shed Break and recent scam attempts

Dear <<First Name>>
Shed Breaks in Chilton Polden Last night, probably around 3.15am, a garden shed was broken into on Broadway, Chilton Polden, and builders' tools stolen. The property is having building work done in their garden, which is very obvious from the road.
Another local property, which is empty and currently being refurbished by builders, was broken into recently, and tools stolen on that occasion, too.
If anyone living along Broadway has CCTV onto the road, please check any recording from last night, especially around the early morning. Please let the police know if you think you have any information that might relate to these crimes.
Recent scam attempts
A member reported a phone call from a chap on number 01137 363294, who, as soon as I answered, launched into "Hi, I'm the home energy advisor for your area. You are the owner of the property?" I just said, sorry but they were currently out, which resulted on the lovely 'advisor' putting the phone down without another word. This was with ActionFraud, after finding the number had an 'alert' status on a 'Who Called Me' website, for a suspected home insulation scam.
A member recently had a phone call from an unknown caller, who claimed he was from their bank (he correctly named the bank) stating there were some suspicious activities on the account and needed to confirm if these payments were made that day as there were several to the same company.  Our member confirmed that she had set up some payments (all the time being very careful of what she said) although none were to the company he was suggesting.  He then asked if she had her card and reader and was it in her possession all day. He then gave her a cancellation authorization number, to be entered into the card reader.  At this point our member knew it was a scam, so said that she would ring the bank direct and she was terminating the call as I believed it to be a scam. He put the phone down!
The following is part of an email recently received by a member:

We are hearing several reports of members receiving scam calls from local numbers. These are where scammers are trying to trick you into believing they MUST be real as they are near by. Do please remain alert to any calls you receive advising for example you have a slow broadband connection, your loft insulation does not meet current regulations, you have post from Royal Mail that has not been fully paid, your Amazon Prime has expired or has been hacked, these will almost certainly be scams and if in doubt hang up, let the phone line clear for at least 5 minutes and then call the company back on a number you know, preferably on a different phone. And please never press 1 on your keypad when asked.
