June 2022
Summer is here!

Welcome to the Collaboration for Early Childhood's Monthly Newsletter! We loved connecting with you yesterday at Day in Our Village. So many folks came out and it felt so good to be out in our community again. Our Family Engagement team was at Mills Park and our Board Members said hello to the community at Scoville.

Before you get swept up in the busy summer season, take a minute to honor an early childhood hero in your life by making a donation to the Collaboration for Early Childhood

Improving the Overall Health and Well-being of our Community

How does one connect families that need assistance to the resources that are already available within our community? What are social determinants of health? Dr. Weller, pediatrician and member of our Health and Development Committee, recently wrote a guest blog post for us that answers these questions

Birthday Bash Glamour-Shots!

The photos from the Birthday Bash are now up on the Collaboration for Early Childhood's Flickr account and everyone looked absolutely fabulous. A big thank you to Cedric Uwabasinga, the evening's photographer and videographer and our roving photobooth from Bespoke Flipbooks.

Please feel free to download the images and share however you would like. These photos belong to all of us.

CELEBRATING JUNETEENTH IN THE COMMUNITY
Whitney Brooks, pictured above with Cate Readling at last year's Juneteenth celebrations, has written a blog post on our website about ways that we can learn about and honor the Juneteenth holiday. She shares  her favorite children's books about the topic and some upcoming local events, so mark your calendar!

We hope to see you out in our community honoring this special and important part of our American history.
