Much has happened and many miles have been traveled, around 4,500 I think, since last time we talked.  This will be a lengthy update, so grab a Sunkist and your favorite bag of M&Ms.  You are going to need the sugar...

We left the hailstorms of Ruidoso and arrived in Houston just in time for Cy-Fair Christian's Vacation Bible School.  Kelly and I were so happy, and lucky that the timing worked out to be able to serve again as Crew Leaders.  This was the first area that Kelly and I volunteered in at the church way back in 2007...or 2008?  I can't remember.  Enough time has flown by though that one of our kids, Cooper, who we had in our 4th grade class in the Kid's ministry was now one of the worship leaders for the week of VBS.  It's a blessing to be able to see them grow in their faith and step out of their comfort zones as they serve God.  I'm so thankful for the relationships we have formed by being with the kids and young adults at Cy-Fair. There are so many, but one highlighted by my good friend Aiden.  I could take a chunk of your time writing about our times in KidZone playing basketball with the Pop-A-Shot, but I'll leave it for another day.  Aiden, if you are reading this, what's up!?, and thank you so much for the words of encouragement you shared with your mom.  I sincerely hope I can continue to watch you grow and share more great memories together.  You rock!

As always, our crew of kids was amazing!  Abby, Sarah, Kaiden, Eliam, and Mateo were a blast to be around throughout the week.  Kelly and I continue to pray for your relationship with Christ, that He protects you as you grow, and that your faith in Him grows stronger as time goes on.
Crazy Sock Day.  Kelly, ....tisk, tisk.
So proud of family Tiberius!  We used Friday to cook food for the families and let the kids jump around on 7 inflatables.  Oh, and a dunk tank for Travis, our children's pastor : )  You can check out some more pictures from that, here on the blog.
The rest of our time in Houston was spent trying to meet up with as many friends and family as we could.  Part of our home group invited us out to Baytown for some fun in the sun and BBQ.  A relaxing time with beautiful scenery, and another opportunity to see how lightening fast kids grow up.  So thankful for this special group of brothers and sisters in Christ.  Partners in life who have showered us with prayer and encouragement without pause during our first years on the mission field. Thank you Edward and Michelle for the invite!
Can you spot downtown?
Along with being fortunate to serve at VBS, we were also able to be at Cy-Fair for Pastor Chad's last message at CFCC.  He and his family have moved to Tennessee for a different position and new chapter of their journey.  Praying hard for their transition and giving thanks to God for how he led Cy-Fair over the years.  A special man of God that I had the pleasure of knowing better through our backpacking trip in Colorado.  Before he took off, I went mountain biking with him and my friend Mario.  And yes, I was as exhausted as I look in this photo.  I forget how far we covered but about 45 minutes of riding with hands that could not have gripped the handle bars tighter...
Thanks for letting me borrow this Rockets themed super comfy bike Mario!  ;)
We spent an evening with Aaron and Christina Bolch, and their son Theo.  We love hanging out with this couple, who we first met at a Financial Peace course at CFCC years ago. They have inspired us to cook and grill, taught us to swing a golf club, turned us on to the city of Destin Florida, and maybe most importantly, share a special love for hotels with us, ha.  Love you guys!
Time with my family, meetings/meals with our Pastors and close friends Dale and Jeff, Astros game with my friends Mark and Paul, basketball and weights at Lifetime Fitness with the crew, open gym at CFCC with my friend Matt, all wrapped up our time in the best city in Texas.  Hey Kay!  Thank you for letting us crash your place : )
Paul and I checking in on the BIG3 tourney.
We then left the big city skyline for the small country roads of Kentucky.  There we stayed with Kelly's dad and got to visit her sister Traci, family with Aunt Sheila and John, and more family with Aunt Linda and Uncle Earl.  All the seasons are beautiful there, but I think I enjoy summer the most.  Probably because of all the yard work that needs to be done.  Thank you to all who hosted us, we enjoyed our time with you.  I'm already looking forward to our next visit!
We only have a short amount of time left in the States before we head back to Cofradía, but before we go, there is one, I mean two, more things we would like to share.  As you may have seen on FaceBook, Kelly and I are now expecting twins!
! !
Yes, we are beyond words.  God is so amazing and so faithful.  After 5 years of trying, including 1 and a half at the fertility clinic in Guadalajara, and countless prayers from so many, God has answered.  It's a little easier now that Kelly is showing, but there are still times I can't believe it.  Through the rollercoaster journey at the clinic alone, there were times I felt like throwing in the towel.  To see Him, continue to walk with us, and provide us with not one, but two children for our family is beyond words I can speak.  I told Pastor Dale and a friend of mine, "I wish Jesus was at CFCC this Sunday.  I wish I could scope Him out in the congregation, walk up to Him, and give Him a hug.  Tell Him face to face, how much I love him."  "Is that him?" "No, that's Greg.  He's grown out his beard since last time you were here." "Oh, never mind, found him.  Hold on I'll be right back." ...I will get that opportunity some day, and trust me, I can not wait.
"You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
because he trusts in you.
Trust in the Lord forever,
for the Lord God is an everlasting rock."
Isaiah 26:3-4
We can't say enough about the New Hope Fertility Center in Guadalajara either.  The clinic, as well as Kelly and I are looking forward to going back and having them meet our new additions. Thanks to all of you for showering us with prayers and encouragement from the beginning.  It's cliche, but the journey could not have been completed without them. A special thank you to the girl friends of Kelly who were near the phone at every update through text and/or WhatsApp.  You know who you are and I know you provided support only you all could have.  I am so grateful for you being there for her.
I can't believe I'm going to finally be a dad.  I can't believe we are now a family of 5, just like that. Phoebe, we aren't forgetting you...

Prayer Requests:
Dwellings -  Praise!  Through a couple the Silbermans know the Romero Carrillo family is being blessed with a home!  This is a family of 5 currently living in 1 room with Alonso's grandmother and uncle.  We could not be more excited for them and can't wait to start building!

Time Apart - Kelly and I have decided that it would be better for Kelly to stay in New Mexico with her mom during the month of August and September.  I will be flying back to Mexico the 19th of August and returning in early October.  We are at peace with this decision but also know it will be difficult to be apart.  We would love prayers during this time.  Specifically, so Kelly can remain comfortable and no complications arise with the pregnancy, and that I can survive life without her and Phoebe by my side : )

El Reto 2017 -  We have the topic/theme set and will soon be ready to go for our 2017 youth outreach! We start the first Saturday of six on August 26th!  Please pray new students are led to Cofradía to participate and that God uses the leaders and volunteers to help change lives and bring light to Jesus's love for them.
"Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." Colossians 3:1-2
I hear ya!
