Can the COPM Web-App be used in Research?

The COPM is frequently used in research. In the past, this has been done using the paper version of the tool, now we are often asked if the web-app could be used. The simple answer is yes!  The COPM web-app can be used in research as readily as it can be used in a clinical setting; it will allow you to have multiple users and to aggregate data.

To set up the app for multiple users, assuming you want more than one person accessing the app, we recommend that one member of the research team set up the account as an account manager; that person can then add sub-accounts for the other members of the team that need to complete the COPM for your research study.

To aggregate data, the COPM web-app has a data aggregation tool (available for a one-time fee) -  that can be used in a research or clinical setting. The tool enables the account manager to export all completed COPM measures in order to analyze results. The data is exported into a csv data file that can easily be read by Excel and common statistical analysis packages. The data file contains information from each completed COPM: therapist name, T1 date, T2 date, identified problems and scoring, as well as summary data for the group, including average scores and change in scores, and the number of specific problems by frequency and importance.

Pricing information and further details on the web-app can be found here: https://app.thecopm.caContact us if you have any questions about the COPM web-app and data aggregation tool.
