Long Beach College Promise announces Groundbreaking College Promise 2.0

The Long Beach College Promise announced a new milestone today with the unveiling of Promise 2.0. Beginning in fall 2019, the enhanced initiative will feature a guaranteed transition from Long Beach City College (LBCC) to California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) for qualifying graduates of Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD). Read more...

LBCC Announces 2018 Hall of Fame Inductees


A Long Beach City Councilmember, a veteran law enforcement commander, an educator who continues to give back to the community college he served, and an attorney who is recognized in her expertise in special education law, have been named as Long Beach City College’s 2018 Hall of Fame inductees, LBCC officials recently announced.

Two welcome centers opened at LBCC, one for each campus, which has been a dream of the counseling department for some time. Turning dreams into action, Superintendent-President has made student success a top priority and the new welcome center will support just that. 
LBCC kicked off the semester with College Day 2018, "A Day At The Long Beach". Here faculty, classified staff and management all came together under one tent to inspire each other and kick off another semester at LBCC.

Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters Gives Large Food Donation to LBCC Students 

Long Beach City College (LBCC) received a donation of more than 80 cases of food on Sept. 21, from the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters. The food will be distributed to LBCC students in need.

Long Beach City College dramatically reduced its preliminary 2017-2018 $10.7 million budget deficit to $300,000 without layoffs or cuts to programs.

Free Coding Boot Camp for Young Women

Long Beach City College is offering a free boot camp workshop series geared towards young women in high school, grades 10 through 12. This boot camp aims to give young women exposure to different career opportunities available within the computer science field while teaching them how to code.
