Let There Be Love
Let There Be Love Shared Among Us,
Let There Be Love In Our Eyes,
May Now Your Love Sweep This Nation,
Cause Us Oh Lord To Arise.
Give Us A Fresh Understanding
Of Brotherly Love That Is Real,
Let There Be Love Shared Among Us,
Let There Be Love.
Let Love Be real
Let love be real, in giving and receiving,
Without the need to manage and to own;
A haven free from posing and pretending,
Where every weakness may be safely known.
Give me your hand, along the desert pathway,
Give me your love wherever we may go:
As God loves us, so let us love each other,
With no demands, just open hands and space to grow.
Let love be real, not grasping or confining,
That strange embrace that holds yet sets us free;
That helps us face the risk of truly living,
And makes us brave to be what we might be.
Give me your strength when all my words are weakness,
Give me your love in spite of all you know:
As God loves us, so let us love each other,
With no demands, just open hands and space to grow.
Let love be real, with no manipulation,
No secret wish to harness or control;
Let us accept each other's incompleteness,
And share the joy of learning to be whole.
Give me your hope through dreams and disappointments,
Give me your trust when all my failings show:
As God loves us, so let us love each other,
With no demands, just open hands and space to grow.

St Stephen’s Church open 10am-4pm every day for private prayer
Please call in, stay awhile remembering the hygiene rules and keeping social distancing whilst there!
During the Corona virus pandemic we sent out 23 Bulletins. We hope this helped keep us all in touch with one another. Feedback was received – for which we are grateful- and some changes were made. Most people have better ideas than I and I am happy to absorb them!
A new month, a new term, almost a new season and so it is time for a ‘new look’! Even the NewsQuiz on Radio 4 has a new chair; if only it had a real audience instead of a ‘virtual’ one. The pandemic is not over yet and it is clear that it has been a huge spectrum of experience.
Whist we are concentrating on what we can do and not what we can’t, we are finding new and innovative ways to do various things. We welcome our new Curate Ashley Hines to our Benefice (details below) and look forward to her joining the team and the community. New beginnings are about sharing what we have – the ability to give generously of our time and talents and sharing, as a community, in the love of God.                                                                                                                                                Elizabeth

Thank you to all who continue to support the Food Bank. There is even greater demand for assistance in the current crisis. Donations can now be left in Church. Their latest needs are:

       “We’re Good To Go” is the official UK mark to signal that we have follow Government COVID-19 guidelines and has a process in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing. We have successfully applied for the ‘Good to Go’ Industry standard and this has been granted.
Worship in Church
We are committed to keeping everyone who enters our building, and those who worship in it, safe. We have introduced a number of new measures to ensure this happened as we reopened for private prayer and reflection. Now we are continuing with the directive issued by The Church of England and Lichfield Diocese to implement further measure as public worship resumes.
  • Please keep to a social distance of 2 metres. Please note that face coverings are now mandatory in public buildings unless you fall into one of the exemption categories.
