General Retention Schedule Proposed Updates
We are proposing three updates to the General Retention Schedule this month. The first is an update to Open meeting minutes (GRS-1709) where clarifying language has been added regarding meeting preparation materials or 'meeting packets'. The other two are updates regarding reports issued to and from the State Treasurer's Office. We would love your feedback on these schedules.

State Records Committee Update
At the September 10th meeting, the Committee heard five appeals:
  • KSL v. the Department of Health. This was regarding COVID-19 cases and deaths in nursing homes. The appeal was granted.
  • Brady Eames v. ULGT. This appeal was denied because records were provided.
  • Mike Favero v. Logan City School District. The committee reviewed dozens of email records in camera. The request was granted in part and denied in part.
  • Steve Onysko v. Emigration Improvement District. The request was denied because it needed to be more specific.
  • Cathryn Cordray v. Utah Inland Port Authority. The request was related to email correspondence. There was one email attachment that hadn't been provided, so the Committee said that had to be provided. Besides that, the respondent had done a thorough search.
A recording of the meeting is available on the Public Notice Website.
