We have created a new guideline to help agencies with record-keeping decisions around unusual and significant events. The hope is that this guideline will make the job of records officers easier and will aid in creating comprehensive collections detailing how agencies across the state of Utah have dealt with COVID-19, earthquakes, forest fires, or any other important events in the state’s history.

2020 Legislative Webinar
Join us on May 28th for "Updates to Records Laws: GRAMA and Utah Expungement Law" webinar. This class will cover 2020 updates to GRAMA, as well as 2019 updates to the Expungement Law that go into effect this May. Rosemary Cundiff, Government Records Ombudsman, and Paul Tonks, Assistant Attorney General of Utah, will be team presenting this webinar.

Website Updates
The utah.gov login page is getting a face-lift on May 12th. You will not need to do anything different to continue to access, but the look of the login page will be updated.
Authentication/Login for the Public Notice Website (also known as PMN) is being updated. If you are registered to use the Public Notice Website, you should have received a separate email with details. Contact Utah.gov Customer Service at 801-983-0725 or Dylan Mace at upnw@utah.gov or 801-531-3853 for more information or for assistance.
State Records Management Committee Update
The Records Management Committee met electronically for their April Meeting. No general retention schedules were on the agenda for this month's meeting, but series-specific retention schedules for telematics data and internal affairs records were discussed, among others. Minutes and recordings for the meeting will be posted on the Public Notice Website
