Tena koutou katoa, greetings.
School Reports: Today your children bring home their 'Interim' school report. This is effectively the half yearly report that informs you of how your child is going in relation to National Standards, and includes comments on what your child is doing well, and where their next learning steps are.
Accompanying the report/s is a pamphlet that explains the information on the report. It is very important to remember that the National Standards are where children need to be at the END of the year. The important information for you are the comments - enabling you to celebrate with your child, their achievements in the first half of the year.
On Monday we will have our Student Led Learning Conferences. These are also explained in the pamphlet. Please remember that these are an opportunity for your child to share their learning with you. Teachers have already made contact with each of you during the year, to have conversations about learning, and at any time you can come in and meet with your child's teacher about how your child is going. The teachers will be available to clarify and prompt, but we want you to hear from your child about how they are going. These are a neat way to really engage with what goes on at school from your child's point of view. Thank you to all of you who have already booked for these. Teachers will be in touch today or tomorrow with those of you who haven't yet booked.
For those of you whose conferences occur from 1-3pm, please come to the school office and your child/ren will be waiting for you. For all after school conferences - please ensure you bring your children!!
Hui: Claire Peters and myself are meeting with parents of our Maori children next Tuesday (5th July) at 3.15pm. If you haven't yet returned your form - please do so. We look forward to meeting with those who can make it.
With only one week until the holidays the children are starting to get a bit tired. Please make sure they are having plenty of sleep in the lead up to the end of term!
I look forward to seeing you at the conferences on Monday
