This is the final newsletter for 2015. After three terms here I want to thank all the people who have welcomed me into the school and the wider community. I have felt humbled in the warm welcome and openness from so many of you. The open lines of communication, in such a positive environment, recognises that we are all here for one reason - to get the best that we can for our children. I look forward to continuing to work with you all in this way in 2016.
Staffing: As outlined in earlier newsletters we have some staffing changes:
Mrs Maddy Bullin will join our teaching team and Miss Michelle Harper will become our Office Administrator.
At tomorrow's final assembly we will acknowledge the involvement in our school of three people moving on from their current roles.
Jane Paton will be leaving the Office Administrator role as her family move to Geraldine.
Kate Pavletich will move from her part time teaching role. I'm sure we will see Kate back though in other capacities within the school.
Gill Meehan has resigned from her classroom teaching role. While retiring from her full time position I'm excited to let you know that Gill will be returning in a part time capacity in 2016. Gill will be in a 'learning support' role - the role of an additional teacher who will enable greater learning support of individuals and groups of students. This learning support role will see her work in the learning spaces as an additional teacher (ie alongside classroom teachers). Gill will also be providing classroom release for some teachers.
While they will be acknowledged formally tomorrow I want to take this opportunity to thank each of them for the contribution that they have made to our school in their time. It certainly has not gone unnoticed. Thank you ladies.
To each of every one of you, can I take this opportunity to wish you all a happy, safe and festive Christmas break. I look forward to seeing you all in 2016.
Tuesday - Final Assembly

Summer Reading Challenge and Bookclub
All Yr 1-7 students will bring home a Reading Challenge Bingo board today. Children are to try and 'tick off' as many of the challenge boxes as they can. Adults need to sign each box when it has been carried out. ALL students who complete a Bingo Board and bring it back to school in the first two days of 2016 will receive a reward. All completed boards will go in the draw for a book prize.
Mrs Powell will also be running a Holiday Bookclub at the school library on January 18th and 19th from 1-2pm. Students are welcome to bring their holiday reading to share with others. You are welcome to attend one or both of these sessions.
Remember we are working hard to prevent the 'Summer Slide' - the holiday decline in reading capability that often happens over the summer holidays. We really appreciate your support with this.
