Hello <<First Name>>,

Lately, the garden has been singing so loudly to me. Consequently, I have been busy planting up veggie seedlings and weeding. There is always weeding. I could barely hear the Call of the Hat. It was so strange and rather disconcerting.

Thankfully, these creative energies now feel more balanced. There is millinery inspiration AND plant love happening simultaneously. Whew!

Lemon Beret Collage
While the harvest season is not yet here, these two sunny collages are a-beckoning! The Peach and Lemon Berets are such fun!

I LOVE making fruit hats because they make me smile!  As there are no more Watermelons in the shop, I have just started one!

See how the colors glow when they are outside - especially when nestled amongst the amazing (ancient) peonies out front. Indoors on a drizzling day, the colors cannot compare, sadly.

Thankfully, this Wide Brimmed Peach Hat is getting somewhere. Only the final details remain: to bury the topstitching threads and then further refine the shape. Oh, and perhaps sew a lining. We'll see...

Interestingly, the hat is a marriage of several of the fiber art techniques that I studied in the past year. Can you spot them?

Thank you for accompanying me on this journey. Wishing you a flower-filled weekend!

With appreciation,

PS: I just registered for a five-day, online, Free Form Sinamay Workshop with English milliner, Tracy Chaplin! I'm so excited to explore Sinamay, a lightweight material that is not warm and wooly! Can you say, 'Summer Hats?'
