Kia Ora!
WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING?
THE SOUTHLAND YOUTH EXPO!
The big thing on the mind of Number 10's Project Coordinator Michelle these days is the upcoming Southland Youth Expo!  While there have been agency expos in the past, there has never been an opportunity for rangatahi to connect with youth agencies and interest groups quite like this.
With over 30 confirmed stallholders ranging from Air & Army Cadets to PACT to Youthline, there will be something for everyone.  Throw in some free kai, entertainment and activities and it just gets better!
We will see you there!
WELCOME!
Introducing Courtney- the newest member of the Number 10 team!  Although technically employed by WellSouth, Courtney is working at Number 10 as a Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP) twice a week.
"I am a born and raised Southlander and completed my degree in Occupational Therapy in Dunedin. I then returned home to begin working in youth mental health for a few years before becoming a Health Improvement Practitioner with WellSouth. I live on a dairy farm with my partner, our two cats and a border collie, Max, who thinks cows are scary but loves making friends with the new calves. I love all things crafty and anything that means I get to be creative and make things- I recently finished my first crocheted jumper!
I am looking forward to working with the team and young people at Number 10 and supporting them to live a life full of meaning and potential."

KA KITE ANO!
We welcomed Youth Coach Brian back in January in a Paternity Leave cover position, and he quickly settled into youth mentoring- matching his passion for health, fitness and well-being with supporting young people.  We wish him the very best for the future and his next venture.  Ka kite ano, Brian :)
GROUP PROGRAMMES
OMAUI CAMP
The Number 10 Omaui camp was a great success!  An action-packed four days and three nights saw the young people build relationships, learn about self-care, go swimming, challenge themselves on the challenge course, make some arts and crafts, play Corn Hole and Giant Connect 4, build a camp fire and toast marshmallows, and play games... along with some chilling downtime.
YOUNG HUMS
This year the 2022 Young Hums group were very lucky to visit a few new places as well as a number of old favourites. We visited the Invercargill SPCA, where we learnt about how they care for the animals and what it takes to be a volunteer. We also spent time at the Invercargill Hospice, where we helped them by volunteering our time to help put together fundraising packs and also learnt what the hospice do for our community.
All in all the Young Hums group had a great week and we can't wait until next year's programme kicks off again!
EVERYONE 4 EQUALITY
Youth Coach Nic was stoked to be able to take a group of young people from E14E- Everyone For Equality up to the Dunedin Pride Ball last month.  With generous sponsorship from MacAulay Motors to cover the price of the tickets, all they had to do was put on their finery and off they went!

Did you know that E14E have a facebook page?  Follow us for information on pride events, workshops and trainings and more.

A huge thank you to the generous businesses and individuals who support us.  Recently, someone who was on a Clinical Placement here a couple of years ago has started a $20/ month automatic payment. The reasoning? "I love the kaupapa."
Thank you very, very much!

If you'd like to become a regular supporter, there is a 'donate' button at the botttom of our website home page.
