Kia Ora!
It's great to be back in 2021- the Staff have all had a restful and refreshing break and we are raring to go!  Mentoring will kick off soon, and planning for group programmes is well underway- some have already been finalised, so see below for details of these.  Our clinical team has hit the ground running and we are taking appointments as usual.

We're delighted to announce the appointment of Ngaire, previously Admin Coordinator, to the position of Social Services Manager for Number 10.  Ngaire came to Number 10 over a year ago as a registered nurse of 14 years, with experience predominantly in mental health in New Zealand, Australia and Vanuatu. She has been a superstar in the Admin Coordinator role, but is thrilled to have accepted the Social Services Manager position, and to be able to better utilise her skill set.  She is looking forward to meeting and working with stakeholders in the community.
If you'd like to contact Ngaire, you can do so by emailing her;
This year Number 10 was stoked to partner with the Invercargill Gingerbread House Contest, and be the recipient charity for the event.  Mel from South City Party Nibbles came and ran two fantastic decorating workshops: one for Staff and one for a group of enthusiastic young people.
The houses were surprisingly more difficult to make than any of us had anticipated, but there were still smiles by the end!

Over 40 houses were entered in the competition this year and it was great to partner with H & J Smith Department Stores, and see all the houses so beautifully displayed there.
This advent season the Admin team at Number 10 decided to lay down the creative gauntlet to the other teams (clinical and social services- who were divided into two teams as there are so many of them!).  The task was to create a Christmas photo or video, and be as creative as possible.  We roped in our good friend Lois Conway, Director of ISSN, to be the judge.
There was fierce competition and the standard was exceptionally high, but the winners were the clinical team with their 'Awkward Christmas Photo'!
Creative Arts is a group for young people to hang out, meet new people and have fun while being creative! Throughout the year, the Number 10 facilitators will provide project ideas for young people to work on. If working on a project is not your thing, don't worry! Just come along and do your own creative work in the background.
Term 1's project will be a collaborative Street Art installation- facilitated by the super talented Tulaga Aiolupotea. Tulaga will be teaching young people street art techniques, and the group will design and paint a mural.
Details: Wednesdays during term time
Time: 4-5:30pm
Location: Number 10 Southland Youth One Stop Shop, 10 Deveron Street
Start Date: February 10th, 2021

We have a nurse available each  weekday and a doctor twice a week.
