Firebrands Hockey Club has enjoyed a successful season. The Men's 1st Team should have come up high in the South West Premier League but they tailed off to a solid 4th place. The Ladies 1st XI are currently in playoff's for to stay in the Women's National Hockey League. We wish them all the best for the remaining games.
Andy Howse has been involved with all sports over at Prior Park College. On Saturday match days Andy covered the rugby games providing medical cover for the college. The school had a tough season but will be building through into next season.
Old Bristolian's Rugby Football Club has had one of the best seasons ever. The 1st Team, with Emma Davies help; is currently 4th in the league and the 2nd XV are near the top of their league. The mini's are thriving with over 400 players on average turning out on a Sunday.
Reaching the final of any competition should be the goal for any team and the University of Bristol Rugby Football Club reached the Final of the BUCS Vase competition. Having won the varsity against UWE two days earlier, unfortunately the players couldn't repeat the feat and lost to Northumbria 20-24. Andy Howse had a very enjoyable season applying his trade for the lads in the BUCS Premiership.
Clifton Ladies 1st XI have had a mixed season. Success last year in the league was tempered with a mid table finish in 2016. However, at the end of this month, they will be facing Buckingham HC in the final of the Investec Women's Cup.
