Deserved Success
It's always satisfying to see a good old friend get the recognition you know they have long deserved. We feel this way about Domaine Marc Colin.
This is the family domaine that has, in turn, spawned the blue-chip Domaine Pierre Yves Colin Morey and more recently, rising star Domaine Joseph Colin, as Marc and Michele's children have stepped out on their own.
The family domaine is now run by siblings Joseph, Caroline, and Damien and has only gone from strength to strength with prices rising dramatically in just the last year or so.
St. Aubin for Value and Finesse
Despite a St. Aubin address, the Marc Colin domaine holds enviable and unsurpassed holdings in Chassagne and is among the elite who hold a precious patch of Montrachet itself, the jewel in any crown but our offering today is of just two of the domaine's superb 1er crus from St. Aubin.
In past offers, we have highlighted the village of St. Aubin and its best 1er crus and will not fill space here with hyperbole, but for a variety of reasons, not least climate change, St. Aubin has all but joined Chassagne, Puligny, and Meursault for quality, if not yet reputation.
Going, Going, Gone...
Put simply, in the time it has taken for these wines to arrive, the price has changed so much that we will never see them at this level again.
