Sensational Crowd Pleasers...
Yet a Favorite of Serious Collectors
"Vilmart & Cie. is not only one of the greatest grower-estates in Champagne, but one of the finest champagne producers of any type in the region. " -Peter Liem, Champagne Guide
Under the guidance of Laurent Champs, Vilmart has become the most stylishly self-assured of all the grower-champagnes.  The wines are dramatically polished.  They are rich and vinous, yet seductively fragrant and intense across the entire range.  They are hard not to like, and as such, they are crowd-pleasers, but they are above-all impressively serious champagnes.

The entry-level Grande Reserve and the Grand Cellier make complete nonsense of all the grandes marques at that price level.  To those who are used to being served Cliquot, they are a jaw-dropping initiation into a new world.

At the high end, the vintage wines: the Grand Cellier d’Or, the Emotion Rose,  the incomparable flagship, the Coeur de Cuvee and new super-cuvee, the blanc de blancs 'Blanches Voies 2012, are all delightfully fine, yet opulently ostentatious at the same time. They are amazing and unforgettable wines.

If you only have room for one grower-champagne, or indeed just one champagne at all in your cellar, it should be Vilmart.

Blanc de Blancs Les Blanches Voies 2012
6 bottles available;
$250 per bottle
96 points Wine Advocate: "Vilmart's just-released 2012 Brut Coeur de Cuvée was disgorged in February 2019, and after two years on cork, it remains notably tight-knit. Unwinding in the glass with notes of pear, fresh bread, elderflower, blanched almonds and citrus oil, it's full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with huge depth at the core and an incisive spine of acidity. Long and penetrating, this is immensely promising, but it's going to demand some patience—more so than the 2011 or 2009. It's a brilliant Champagne in the making, but for now, time is the one missing ingredient."

Coeur de Cuvee 2015
18 bottles available;
$129 per bottle
We cannot quote you a score on Vilmart's classic flagship, Coeur de Cuvee as yet. This new release has no press as yet, but it does not require a PhD in Rocket science to extrapolate from the vintage charts that rate every champagne vintage from 2012 to 2016 'outstanding' to see the advantage in stocking up on this rare treasure early. For our usual fans of Coeur de Cuvee, we urge you to step up now. There are just 18 bottles available and we are not sure to see more.

Brut Rose Emotion 2014
24 bottles available;
$135 per bottle
The 2014 vintage of the Rosé Emotion has not yet been reviewed by the usual suspects but there's no mystery about the quality. With the usual 60% rosé de saignée filled out with Chardonnay, all from old vines in Rilly La Montagne, the excellent 2014 vintage represents another notch up for this rising star in Vilmart's portfolio. Quite simply, it is among the best, most finely crafted yet dramatic rosé champagne made.

Grand Cellier d'Or 2017
18 bottles available;
$75 per bottle
92 points Vinous: "The 2017 Brut Grand Cellier d' Or is a rich, exuberant wine. In 2017, the Brut Grand Cellier d' Or has an exotic, tropical quality that is a bit unusual, but also incredibly appealing. Hints of mango, passionfruit, citrus confit and white flowers all build nicely in the glass. Medium in body and yet quite resonant, the 2017 is an absolute delight. The 2017 looks to be more of an early-drinking vintage, but I doubt that will be a problem for Vilmart fans. The blend is 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir. Disgorged: July, 2021. (Drink between 2022-2030)"

Grand Cellier d'Or 2018
36 bottles available;
$79 per bottle
Also not yet reviewed but another great year!

Brut Grand Cellier NV
48 bottles available;
$59 per bottle
6 magnums available;
$120 per magnum
94 points Wine Spectator: "A mouthwatering Champagne that shows seamless integration of the plush and creamy mousse, rapierlike acidity and expressive range of peach, chopped nut, ripe green apple, star anise and honeysuckle aromas and flavors that persist on the long finish. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Disgorged January 2022. Drink now through 2027."

Brut Grande Reserve NV
30 bottles available;
$45 per bottle
12 magnums available;
$110 per magnum
91 points Vinous: "Once again, the NV Brut Grande Réserve (2016 base) is a terrific introduction to the Vilmart range. The aromatics alone are captivating. Poire Williams, kirsch and exotic white flowers lend striking aromatic intensity. Medium in body and finely cut, the Grande Réserve is perhaps a bit more austere than most Vilmart Champagnes, but it compensates for that with striking precision and overall persistence. This edition is especially fine. Disgorged: June 1, 2019. (Drink between 2020-2028)"
