1957 Bual
$385 per bottle, 17 bottles available
95 Point Average in Cellar Tracker User Reviews

1966 Bual
$680 per magnum, 3 magnums available
94 Points Wine Advocate - "Deep amber in colour, it has a harmonious nougat, Chinese tea, walnut and dried fig-scented bouquet that unfolds wonderfully in the glass - so complex and mercurial. The palate is smooth and viscous on the entry, almost candied with dried orange peel, mandarin, walnut and a touch of peach skin. The acidity is beautifully judged here and lends this Bual the tension to counterbalance the richness and density on the finish, so that it almost seems weightless on the effortless finish. Just 708 bottles released of this superb 1966 Bual." - Neal Martin

1968 Sercial
$325 per bottle, 16 bottles available
$155 per half, 5 half bottles
available
93 Points Wine Advocate - "Bottled in 2018 and matured for 49 years in seasoned American oak casks, the 1968 Sercial exhibits a complex bouquet of mocha, baked apple, praline, dates, fine furniture polish and marmalade. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, with tangy acids, good concentration and a long, precise finish. With 59 grams per liter residual sugar and ten grams total acidity, it's a tangy Sercial that benefits considerably from aeration, becoming progressively more complete and integrated: two weeks after opening, the last glass was decidedly the best." - Neal Martin

1973 Verdelho
$325 per bottle, 24 bottles available
A four star vintage - Michael Broadbent

1977 Malmsey
$295 per bottle, 7 bottles available
$170 per half, 1 half bottle
available
94 Points Vinous -  "The 1977 Malmsey was aged for 41 years in American oak casks before bottling in 2018. It offers well-defined scents of walnut, dried quince, Japanese yuzu and glimpses of brown spice, gaining intensity with aeration, almost Bual-like in style. The spicy palate is very well balanced with a fine thread of acidity, delivering flavors of stem ginger, yellow plums and marmalade. The persistent, very focused finish is elegant and poised. In fact, you might not deduce it to be a Malmsey if you tasted it blind. Superb. 635 bottles produced. Tasted at John E. Fells portfolio tasting in London." - Neal Martin

1977 Verdelho
$275 per bottle, 2 bottles available
90 Points Wine Advocate - "The 1977 Verdelho was bottled in 2009, a run of 695. It offers a very persuasive, lively bouquet of dried orange peel, quince, melted wax and a touch of anis, all with impressive delineation and vigor. The palate is pure and very well-balanced with vibrant, shimmering citrus fruits that marry perfectly with the honey, quince and peachy fruit. This is a comparatively approachable, less oxidative take on Verdelho that will appeal to those who prefer less fiery Madeira. " - Neal Martin

1977 Terrantez
$275 per bottle, 4 bottles available
$155 per half, 16 half bottles
available
94 Points Wine Advocate - "The 1977 Terrantez, bottled in 2015, is a combination of casks 24213 and 24207. Sadly, it will be one of the last Terrantez releases from Blandy's, because all the prime vineyard land was given over to hotel construction from the 1980s onward. Chris Blandy reckons there will be three, possibly four more releases down the line. It has a very refined bouquet with dried fig, toffee apple, melted wax and orange blossom aromas that gently unfold in the glass. After ten minutes, it becomes very smooth and viscous, caressing the palate that Terrantez so often does. Equally beautiful and heartbreaking given that Terrantez is on the cusp of extinction, this is a delightful, refined Madeira suffused with sophistication. Just 1,588 bottles released. Make sure that one is yours." - Neal Martin

1980 Sercial
$295 per bottle, 24 bottles available
$175 per half, 12 half bottles available

94 Points Vinous - "The 1980 Sercial has a pale amber hue with a straw rim. It presents a striking and quite vivacious bouquet of orange pith and marmalade mixed with grilled noisettes; there is fine delineation here. The palate is taut and fresh with a fine line of acidity. This is an elegant Sercial that displays finesse and poise before an arresting stem ginger finish departs with just the right amount of dryness. Superb. (21% alcohol)" - Neal Martin

1981 Malmsey
$320 per bottle, 24 bottles available
$185 per half, 18 half bottles available

91 Points Wine Advocate - "Offering up aromas of candied dates, warm spices, cigar smoke, candied peel and aromatic wood, the 1981 Malmsey is medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with an elegantly satiny attack, good depth at the sweet but attractively savory core and a long, penetrating but subtly drying finish." William Kelly

1988 Malmsey
$315 per bottle, 24 bottles available
90 Points Wine Advocate - "an agreeable bouquet with maraschino, marmalade, Seville orange and grilled walnuts on the nose, although it takes a little time in the glass to warm up. The palate has a real prickle of acidity and is lightly spiced with cloves, bay and white pepper. It builds nicely in the mouth toward a slightly smoky finish that exerts good weight and sufficient sweetness to satisfy any Malmsey lover." - Neal Martin
