Monthly Message from Councilwoman Gilmore

John Wooden once said, “If you don’t have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?” Your time is valuable and in the District 11 office we know that when you reach out to us with an idea, concern or issue, you want answers and results. This has been and will continue to be our #1 commitment to you -- top-notch customer service and timely results. We celebrated our 100th day in office on October 28th and are proud to have reached a 90.5% closed rate for constituent issues!

Serving District 11 and you is a 24/7 job and we are inspired by your commitment to making our neighborhood the best that it can be. 100 days went by quick, but in that time we have accomplished all 5 of our top goals along with many more. The support of Denver’s city agencies staff is invaluable and from Public Works to Denver Human Services to the Office of Economic Development, we are all working toward making your lives better through the delivery of services and infrastructure improvements. I look forward to seeing what exciting developments the next 100 days bring to District 11 and our city. Building on our partnerships, we will continue to move the Front Door to Denver forward with the value of always taking the time to do it right, the first time for you.

                                Kind Regards,
                                Councilwoman Stacie Gilmore

Push Small Area Plans for Redevelopment and Growth

  Small Area Plan Progress
We know that you value strategic planning around growth and development in District 11. Since July 20th, the District 11 office and Councilwoman Gilmore have been at the forefront of working with Community Planning and Development to prioritize District 11 for the creation of small area plans. In order to ensure we have the most robust and thoughtful smart development possible. Taking into consideration the infrastructure needs, such as street widening, traffic signals and multimodal transportation planning in addition to ensuring we have the development that we deserve in District 11 will remain a priority of 2016 and beyond. Look for upcoming announcements on ways that you and our community can make sure your voice is heard in this process.

Denver Facts - Did You Know?
Did you know...You can enroll your child in the Denver Preschool Program if you live in Denver even if you do not work in Denver!

Approved by voters in 2006 for an initial period of 10 years, the Denver Preschool Program (DPP) makes high quality preschool possible for all Denver 4-year-olds regardless of income or neighborhood. To ensure preschool programs are high quality, DPP invests more than $1 million annually in over 250 individual preschools across the city, providing them the help they need to deliver high quality education.

To qualify you must live in the City and County of Denver and your child must be in their last year of preschool before kindergarten at a participating DPP program.

The amount of support a family receives depends on family size and income, the quality of the preschool chosen, and the length of day and number of days per week a child attends preschool. Only children attending one of DPP’s contracted preschools can receive tuition support. For an estimated tuition credit, please visit dpp.org/calculator.

Go to the Denver Preschool Program website to apply your children for quality preschool today!
