|AP Macroeconomics Class Visits
the Federal Reserve
by Crystal Rigley
On January 11th, 26 AP Macroeconomics students hopped on BART and toured the Federal Reserve in San Francisco. This trip was an amazing experience for the students. In class, we learned about the Federal Reserve and Monetary Policy. This trip was an exciting opportunity to expand on our classroom learning. The students' favorite part was seeing the giant vault of cash and the receiving area. The Federal Reserve is responsible for, among other things, changing out used money and holding bank reserves for banks that don't have enough room in their vault. The students were definitely blown away by the security, the piles of cash and the workers whose only job was to count money all day. Each student left with a bag of shredded money.
Thank you to all the AC parents whose donation made our trip possible.
