FIGT is part of a larger world-wide network of organizations writing about and supporting the globally mobile community. This week we are pleased to feature an article from our #FIGT16NL gold sponsor CULTURS.
"Confronting Goodbyes," was written by CULTURS Expert Myra Dyumpais (also a former Pollock Scholar), who is head of CULTURS Partner Organization TCKid.
If I had a shirt I could have worn throughout my childhood and teen years of moving around the world, it would spell out these words from my all-time favorite quote: “I hate good-byes.” Read more ...
PROPOSALS FOR FIGT 2017
One of the most important behind the scenes committees for FIGT16NL was the Proposal Review Committee. It will soon be hard at work preparing for the next year’s conference.
RFP's (requests for proposals) will be gathered this year in August and September. At an initial review meeting, each proposal receives a detailed review by at least three members of the Review Committee as well as by the Program Chair, Research Liaison and Program Chair liaison. After a careful discussion of scientific merit and interest for the greater FIGT membership, written comments and documentation of the committee’s discussions are presented to a Final Review Committee, which selects the top proposals for the conference. We use an overall impact score to organize our review process and identify the aspects of their proposal that were judged to be strongest or weakest.
FIGT16NL had an excellent pool of presentations to use to create the conference. Stay tuned to see when the RFP information goes out.
