When you have a lead in the second half of a game, please make sure your players are managing the time by being more deliberate getting the ball back in play. Sprinting to recover goal kicks or throw-ins can extend the game at a time when you are trying to close the game out. We shouldn’t be disrespectful or blatantly kicking the ball away, but we are also under no obligation to help the other team have the ball back in play quickly. That is what they want so they can create more scoring chances. Game management is an important tactic and all players should be aware of what is happening in game and make the proper decisions to help the team win.
