Coaching Tip of the Week

Coaching Tip of the Week!

April 5, 2016
All training sessions need to have a competitive component to them in the technical activities.  We want the kids performing their technique at game speed and under pressure.  Even the youngest players that struggle with the mechanical part of the game should be put into situations where there are winners and losers.  The consequences can be minor so we aren’t “punishing” players who try hard.  However, the sooner we teach our players in training the game is played in a competitive environment the better off they will be in actual games.  They should also understand that they don’t have to win, but they do have to play to win.
