Message from the Chair

Welcome to our first electronic newsletter! This quarterly newsletter will provide subscribers with information on upcoming events, alumni reports, and recent student and faculty activities. Our next issue of the newsletter will be released in November. Please feel free to send Michelle any news, publications or inspiring stories you would like us to share with our faculty and students.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome the faculty and students of the Latin American Studies Program.  Although the program will function independently from our Department, we will include their news and activities in our newsletters.
Please continue to support the department and its many efforts, to spread the word about the work we do, and to let us know what you are doing in your lives and careers.
Wishing you all the best,
Hiram Aldarondo

Social Media & Alumni Reports

The Department has organized an alumni group on LinkedIn called “
Temple University Department of Spanish and Portuguese Alumni”. This group will provide a space for alumni and faculty to connect with one another. It is designed to help former Temple Spanish and Portuguese graduate and undergraduate students discuss jobs, internships, research, and opportunities. If you have a LinkedIn profile we urge you to join the group. Please also spread the word to any alumni you may know.
Facebook community has surpassed 4,000 likes!  We have recently started featuring our alumni stories in a series titled "Where Are Our Students?" If you know any graduate or undergraduate alumni that would like to share information on what they have accomplished post-graduation with our social community, please have them send us a brief paragraph with their picture.
Check out our Department video series on
