With an eye towards expediting growth, reducing risk and accelerating market adoption, we’re helping founders better position themselves and their startups for success. Founders have successfully completed six weeks at the Rice Alliance Clean Energy Accelerator.

Building their networks:
Our network has helped founders make connections, refine business models, shore up deficiencies and more.  We estimate more than 100 mentor engagements have been initiated in the first six weeks.

Learning through curriculum:
Speakers have covered best practices around leadership, culture, team dynamics, product development, corporate governance, legal compliance, marketing, branding and communications and product pricing and sales—totaling nearly 30 sessions

Cross cohort support:
Meeting weekly in their "pods"—small groups of 3-4 startups ranging in stage and tech—Class 1 is proving the value of cross-cohort learning. Meaningful connections and new friends have been made that will provide ongoing social and professional support.

As for the next six weeks, we’ll continue guiding founders towards successful entry into their markets.

Learn More About the 13 Startups in Class 1
Under the guidance of a formidable Executive-in-Residence team, and in combination with Rice and Houston’s ecosystem, we’ve been able to boost learnings and help founders achieve key objectives. However, their growth is all their own, here are some key achievements so far from startups in Class 1:
  • Arolytics: The team is growing and have hired two software engineers. Also recently included emissions reduction forecasting into its product roadmap.
  • 3E Nano: Call for a C$6M grant with Sustainable Development Technology Canada and a subsequent due diligence call with consortium partners contributing C$5M of in-kind support, took place in late July
  • Co-Flow Jet Wind Turbines: One of 3 startups selected to participate in The Ion's Startup Showcase on July 28th, Co-Flow won the July event.
  • Hydrodine Catalytics: Completed two productive site visits with two energy companies and selected a site for a field trial at an operating well in Edson, Alberta.
  • NASADYA: One of 28 early-stage student innovator teams who have been accepted into the Summer 2021 E-Team Grant Program, and one of 18 teams to receive a $5,000 Stage 1 grant.
