On with the Show - Elevating Ideas at October Events

Keynotes.

From New York City, to Austin, to our backyard in San Francisco - we've been hard at work this month connecting with the sustainability community at recent industry events while supporting new ideas and innovations that address our most pressing issues. Whether on the road or at HQ, on the show floor or up on the speaker's stage, we've continued to support stories that move solutions and progress forward.

Effective communications, whether they're delivered in the form of keynote speeches, trade show events, thoughtfully moderated questions in an online chat, or your own personal tweets recapping the best panels, are incredibly powerful tools to get your thoughts expressed in the exhibition halls and around the world. Blue Practice specializes in developing communications strategies that support all of the above, and in our update this month we want to share some successes from recent conferences and exciting events to come.
What's New with Blue: Conference Highlights
This month we were in Austin for SXSW Eco, where we supported William McDonough's keynote presentation on Cradle to Cradle® and the Circular Economy, and introduced a new design concept - the Carbon Positive City. We were also active at Greenbuild in Los Angeles, where McDonough was awarded the 2016 Leadership Award and the first Cradle to Cradle Platinum certified manufacturer, BarkHouse, was highlighed in the KB show home. Elevating new concepts and solutions at key events, and creating a means of ongoing discussion, is a powerful tool to securing leadership.
Our President and TEDxMarin executive board member, Tim Gnatek, coached and managed nine speakers at this year's popular annual event. Capping off the evening was a talk from Larry Brilliant of the Skoll Foundation, whose presentation addressed how a life of passion and purpose can empower transformation on the world's biggest challenges. Continuing this theme, at the National Bioneers Conference in Marin County, we discussed how the best way to predict the future is to create it. From biomimicry and sustainability solutions to indigenous storytelling, we need to act together.
Upcoming Events & Conferences:
If you are in NYC between November 1st and 3rd, check out the BSR Conference, which is named "the world’s most influential event devoted to sustainability." The theme for this, their 24th year, is Be Bold and intends to inspire big ideas to solve our global challenges.
On November 2nd, there is another exciting one-day event happening in NYC at the New York Academy of Sciences. At a very affordable ticket price, the Guardian Green Chemistry Conference will create a dialogue on what a toxic-free future looks like and what's next for green chemistry.
