        e Telltale #13
Last weeks Telltale was big and I don’t want to repeat everything in it. Please see last week for details on what’s coming up in February and March including States and Schnapper Point. Lidgett Trophy is a sell out with well over 140 entries which include over 30 from MYC. At Lidgett Trophy and States at Sandringham we will have big teams. It would be great to have everybody in the MYC racing bibs and on-shore in their hoddies.  Please see the attached information regarding a new order of Hoodies.  Please contact the office if you need a racing MYC bib.
Last Friday again for January the weather was not great, but we still had a dozen of Opti's making most of the conditions. While this was going on Jacko, Dave Eick, Tony Hutch, Graeme Alexander and Tim Ede worked hard building new shelving to fit even more Opti’s into the shed. Thanks guys.
Next Friday is looking beautiful with mid 20s and 10 knots of breeze. Let’s break last  years record of 30 children on the water on a Friday night. We will again have a VIODA clinic running, but the rest of us can have a full Friday fun session with the teenagers helping. We might also get some Fevas and a 420 on the water for the older kids. If you haven’t got down for a Friday yet, please come and enjoy a nice wind down to the week, with the kids playing on the water, the adults relaxing, and together enjoying dinner at the club afterwards. This is a good social time for both kids and adults. We hope to get some more of the graduating Tackers 3 kids to join in on the fun, and get some more on-water time before joining  the racing fleet.
Last Sunday, we had some windy racing at last. Please see the attached video from Sam Spicer with some great action racing shots. I wasn’t going to mention Jazzy breaking the start, but the video makes it fairly obvious.
Despite the weather we had 29 OPTis on the beach ready to go. Unfortunately it was not suitable for the Greens. Thanks to GT for the great teaching session. The Open Opti's still raced. In the Club Championships Jazzy won the first race from Lachie and Jack. In the second race Lachie won from James and Jack. In the aggregate those four sailors shared the spoils again. It was great to see a great OTB fleet. We had 3 420s down at Merricks for a 420 Association day, yet we still managed to field 3 more 420s at MYC plus 2 Lasers. Then in the afternoon the Richardsons and Immi bought yet another one back from Davey’s bay. A pink boat called “Orange”!

This Sunday the wind is forecast to be light.  We are again racing for club championships and aggregate, two races. On Sunday the 14th we will sail down to Davey’s Bay in the morning (weather dependent) and race in the afternoon, and leave the Optis there ready for Lidgett. The OTBs will sail back.
Just for your information, recently some of the keel boat crews were fined $300 for not wearing a life jacket in their tender. Everyone on a rib needs a jacket. If the boat is over 4.8 metres an adult doesn’t necessarily have to wear it, but everyone on the Titanic still needs one on board.
Have fun
