From The Commodore

Hi everyone,
A huge thank you everyone who arrived to help slip on Saturday!! Unfortunately the weather fairy didn't know what we had planned so we had to reschedule slipping until Sunday, however Saturday was not lost and saw everyone help to make the yard more accessible and to clear the tender engine shed ready for its refurb. (If you are going to have an engine in the shed you need to click here to register type of motor and hp.  All other motors need to be removed please).

Sunday was the weather we had requested and thanks goes to all the volunteers who turned up again and gave up another sleep in - everyone did a fantastic job and all finished by early afternoon. A special thank you to Laurie White who bought along his bobcat which made life a lot easier with moving the boats around.  You may have noticed that the front entrance garden area has also been cleared & again a big thanks to Laurie who donated his time and machine doing that for us!

Tim Melville, Bolts and Jacko made a start on putting the marks back in, so the end of the weekend has seen a great result from our volunteers to ensure you can all go sailing soon.

Tanya Lawton has spent about 3 days going through & checking all of our first aid kits on the boats and around the club.  A big job, but well worth it - there will be a main first aid kit available to all members & in the next couple of days you will find information on it's location by the defibrilator in the members bar area.  Tanya has offered to keep this up to date for us so a huge thanks goes to Tanya for this.

Next weekend is craning so we have requested good weather and volunteers for Saturday this week, fingers crossed!!!

Enjoy the rest of your week,  Sheryl Schumacher
