Well it felt the season was really on a roll with the first Friday night and Club Champs starting.
Tattler has already covered Sunday’s fun. Welcome though to Jeremy Gray winning on his first day at MYC.
We did have a small Friday Fun night with threatening weather. I did discourage a few very keen greenies that it just wasn’t going to be their night in winds over 25 knots! Loved their enthusiasm though. We did end up taking 3 greenies on a rib watching the big kids. They did think Immi’s surfing was “awesome” and cheered every wave. There will be lots of more pleasant evenings for the greenies this summer. It just has to be fun.
So for this week the current Friday forecast isn’t quite as windy, but still not balmy. Maybe suitable though for some more intermediate kids as well. Good for these kids to get used to a bit windier weather just in the harbour, or if they do venture around the corner, they can dart behind the pier again when they have had enough.
And then more light stuff forecast on Sunday. Two more races of Club Champs and then the first afternoon coaching with Mel. There is a Tackers course and Sailability as well in the morning, so ribs will be busy. Help appreciated at 0900 as we need to launch the lot.
Now for the serious bit. Steve Bardsley has told us that of all the fleets in the club, the Opti’s are the worst at paperwork!. Dads! We all need to be compliant for lots of good reasons, so if you haven’t submitted it all to Steve please do so as I don’t want to nag any more than this.
