We are excited to co-present Assistant Principal Bassist of the Philadelphia Orchestra (currently acting Associate) and Executive Director of Project 440 Joseph Conyers with University of Oregon School of Music and Dance for a bass master class.

Joseph Conyers has established himself as one of the foremost bassists of his generation, currently serving as Acting-Associate Principal Bassist of the Philadelphia Orchestra alongside his former Curtis Institute of Music Professor and Philadelphia Orchestra Principal Bass, Harold Robinson. Following studies at the Curtis Institute (which also included studies with virtuoso solo double bassist Edgar Meyer), Joseph quickly ascended to the top of his profession, holding positions as Principal Bassist of Grand Rapids Symphony (tenured), in the Atlanta Symphony (tenured), and as a member of the Santa Fe Opera before returning to Philadelphia.
Four to five performers will be selected from the applicants.
The fee to perform is $50 for students of ASTA members or those who have ASTA student membership. $100 for Non-ASTA members.
