Maryam punished for ‘late’ return to prison

Iranian Christian Maryam Naghash Zargaran returned to prison after medical parole - only to be told her sentence had been extended by 45 days! She returned to Evin Prison on Tuesday. Maryam had been granted a five-day leave which was extended by a court ruling as she appealed for conditional release. Her plea was rejected - and prison officials then punished her for not returning to jail ‘on time’. Her health remains poor, despite other periods of medical leave. Please pray that God would heal her and strengthen her. (Source: Mohabat News)

We rejoice with our brother, Amir Sina Dashti, that he has been able to submit bail for his conditional release. Amir and four other friends - Ramiel, Mohamad, Amin and Hadi – were arrested in August during a picnic with family and friends in Firuzkuh. Ramiel and Mohamad were released after submitting bail in October; Hadi and Amin remain behind bars. Please pray that their case will come to court soon and they will be acquitted. Please continue to pray for three Sudanese men and a Czech brother who are on trial for crimes which carry a potential death sentence. It is now a year since Pastor Hassan Abduraheem, Abdumonem Abdumawla and Petr Jašek were arrested; Pastor Kowa Shamaal was detained in May. The case against the men centres on their support for a Darfuri student who required medical treatment.
