Call for Nominations

The MASEA Board of Directors are excited to formally announce the opening nominations for the following 2017-2018 Board of Directors open positions:
The time commitment for each position is according to your dedication to the organization, but the networking and professional development is not something you can get from behind your desk!  Being on the Board of Directors will enrich your professional life, build your resume to remain competitive in today’s workplace, and allow you to learn and grow from colleagues across the region.  We don’t ask that you bring a wealth of experience to any of these positions, but we do ask that you bring an enthusiasm for student employment, teamwork, placing MASEA on the forefront and professional growth!

We will be taking names of interested and active MASEA members between now and Friday, March 3, 2017, at which point we will begin the election process.  Please consider the above positions, and get approval from your school before asking to be nominated. The following items should be included in the nomination:
  • Your name or name of person nominated
  • Nominee’s contact information
  • Letter of Support from nominee’s supervisor
  • A video expressing your interest in the position and why you would like to serve is preferred, however a letter of nomination along with a photo will also be accepted

Email the above information to Eric Wordlow at ewordlow@colum.edu by Friday, March 3, 2017. Please contact me, or any board member, for additional details.

Historic Downtown Springfield is just minutes away from the conference site & hotel. Recently revitalized, either a walk or short drive will take you to numerous local restaurants and local eateries, including local favorites

There's something for every palate: Nonna's Italian-American Cafe, Maria's Mexican, Aviary Cafe and Creperie, Harbell's Grill, Gailey's Breakfast Cafe, and Grad School. It's not one size fits-all in this unique neighborhood, there is something for every palate!

Wet your whistle and sample the local brew at Mother's Brewing Co. and Springfield Brew Co (dine in also). Looking for something with a little more ambiance, check out Scotch & Soda or J.O.B. Public House, Springfield's largest "by-the-drink" whiskey selection.

Don't be a DRAG! If you're looking for some lively nightlife, dancing, or unique entertainment, be sure to check out the nightlife. Numerous clubs, watering holes, and local bars make up this college-town hot-spot; including Martha's Vineyard, an LGBT-friendly nightclub featuring live Drag Shows.

Get your Java fix morning, mid-day, or late night at The Coffee Ethic, Mudhouse, or Kingdom Coffee, or European Cafe!
