At last night’s 5 pm press conference, Governor Sisolak again revised the Playbook used to determine what tiers would be allocated the COVID-19 vaccine first.
This third revision is more practical since it takes into account that it is better to use all the vaccine to get it into people’s arms than sitting on a shelf. Nevada has received 170,400 doses and has provided 61,644 vaccines to date leaving 109,756 who possibly could have been vaccinated by now. According to the CDC, Nevada is consistently at the bottom of the list when it comes to administering the vaccine.
As you will see in the summary of the revised Playbook, the priorities and eligibility has been revised into Prioritization Lanes allowing the general population – with the most vulnerable first – to receive vaccinations at the same time as the industry categories.
In the various industries, some categories have been moved up to reflect their frontline involvement with the general public.
In summation, there is light at the end of the tunnel, folks!
