To Bid, or Not to Bid - with Jeff Goldfinger

Whether to devote precious proposal resources to a competitive bid process is one of the most consequential decisions that can be made by a Capture Manager. In this presentation, Jeff Goldfinger relates the story of a weighty circumstance where his client was faced with bidding on work for a government customer that had just fired the client for poor performance on a related program. Jeff used an uncommon linguistic technique to diagnose and overcome both his client’s reluctance to bid and the harm done to their reputation to secure a win in the face of strong headwinds.


About the Speaker: Jeff Goldfinger is the Founder of Xtra Mile Training and Development, helping companies outcompete in the market by investing in their human potential. Focusing on mid-sized technology companies with a STEM-educated customer-facing workforce, he has helped his clients produce an 82% competitive win rate (more than twice the industry average) on $2B+ in new contracts. Jeff spent the first 30 years of his career in the aerospace industry in flight operations, program management, sales, business development, and business unit leadership roles, both domestic and international. He has a B.S. in Computer Science from Northwestern University and will graduate in May 2022, with an M.S. in Adult Learning from Walden University. He currently lives in Valencia, Spain, with his wife and son.
