Catechist Formation Update
JUNE CLINIC UPDATE
All the classes planned for June Clinics are moving very well and smooth. Our special gratitude to the facilitators and hosting parishes and schools who went the extra mile to make this happen. It is our hope to process the classes in a timely manner with the system created for facilitators to submit documents back to our office after each class.

WEEKLY PRAYER
I would like to invite you to join us in prayer.  Every Monday at 10:00am the executive team of the Secretariat for Laity, Family, and Life will pray for your intention.  Please send us your intentions using this link, click here.

Family Ministry Update
PLEASE, THANK YOU, SORRY...
In this section of “The Joy of Love (Amoris Laetitia)”, Pope Francis, through his experience and understanding of family life, gives us some very simple – not easy – instructions to follow.

The quoted phrases are from Pope Francis’ speech to the Pilgrimage of Families, October, 2013.

A Love That Reveals Itself and Increases – The love of friendship unifies all aspects of marital life and helps family members to grow constantly.  This love must be freely and generously expressed in words and acts.  In the family, “three words need to be used.  I want to repeat this! Three words: ‘Please,’ ‘Thank you,’ ‘Sorry.’  Three essential words! ” Let us not be stingy about using these words, but keep repeating them, day after day.  The right words, spoken at the right time, daily protect and nurture love.

Marital love is not defended primarily by presenting indissolubility as a duty, or by repeating doctrine, but by helping it to grow ever stronger under the impulse of grace.  Growth can only occur if we respond to God’s grace through constant acts of love, acts of kindness that become ever more frequent, intense, generous, tender and cheerful.  A celestial notion of earthly love forgets that the best is yet to come, that fine wine matures with age.  It is much healthier to be realistic about our limits, defects and imperfections, and to respond to the call to grow together, to bring love to maturity and to strengthen the union, come what may.

WORLDWIDE MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER CONFERENCE
This announcement is for couples already married who would like an opportunity to ‘Grow in Love’, as the Pope calls us to do.

The 2016 Worldwide Marriage Encounter (WWME) Conference/Convention that will be held at the Tampa (FL) Convention Center from June 17 to 19, 2016 is now open to all married couples.  The convention will feature Drs. Les and Leslie Parrott and their special marriage program and Bishop Bill Skylstad, the North American leadership priest, as the keynote speakers. The Parrotts have been featured in USA Today and the New York Times and had appearances on CNN, The View, The O’Reilly Factor, The Today Show and Oprah.

The WWME North American convention is held every two years and brings together couples who have experienced a Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekend.  This year’s convention is being opened to married couples who have not been on a WWME weekend so they can see the benefits of going on the regular WWME marriage enrichment experience.  Married couples interested in registering for the conference/convention should go to www.wwme2016.org and sign up for the very special three day event.  Couples can also learn more about WWME by going to www.wwme.org.

Youth Ministry Update
HELLO FROM THE GIVEN FORUM
I have been so blessed to be chosen to attend the GIVEN Forum this week in DC! The GIVEN Forum brings together 300 Catholic young women from every State in the nation, all of whom possess skills, desires, and motivation to share their gifts and talents in the Church and in the world. Each young woman who attends GIVEN will be encouraged in her gifts and in leadership skills, and will put these gifts to use by formulating, strategizing and preparing her proposed Action Plan to be implemented within her home community in the months following GIVEN. So what's my action plan, you ask? Developing a diocesan structure for young adult ministry that is both sustainable and incorporates them into their parish communities! Stay tuned as this is formulated & implemented! Prayers are welcomed!!

FLORIDA RESPECT LIFE CONFERENCE: YOUTH NIGHT
Save the date for a youth night at the Florida Respect Life Conference with Sr. Helen Prejean on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 6-9pm. There’s no cost to attend. Event registration information will be made available by the end of the month!!
