Hi there.
Hope you had a great week. Without keeping you up reading this, let's dive into this weeks top ten.
Top ten
🍲 The tuition insurance policy. College kids in the US are buying insurance in case they have to drop out. Tripling from 20k to 70k plans in the past 5 years. As the cost of college increases, so does the cost of dropping out.
🏥 AI Medical Care. There’s no hotter technology right now than artificial intelligence, claims are - radiologists would be obsolete by 2022.
💰 The man who won the lottery 14 times. How a rogue Romanian economist legally gamed the lottery and won millions of dollars around the world.
🐔 The non-chicken chicken company. Virtually all of the company’s revenue comes from animal slaughter and processing. Now its new CEO is pouring money into animal-free alternatives.
🌎 Who needs democracy when you have data? Here’s how China rules using data, AI, and internet surveillance (Thanks Shanty for this!)

📈 The next 10 years will be about "market networks". Market networks will produce a new class of unicorn companies and impact how millions of service professionals will work and earn their living.
🌉 Art by algorithm. From book critiques to music choices, computation is changing aesthetics. Does increasingly average perfection lie ahead?
👨‍💻 Mr. Bags and a fascinating example of influence. In the luxury goods market, one young guy in China has built a massive following of over 4M people who - can help a brand sell 1.2M bags, online, in 12 minutes. In the video they sell $500k worth of bags in seven minutes, live, on WeChat.
🐝 Beekeeping as a Service. Almond growing in California is a $7.6 billion industry that wouldn’t be possible without the 30 billion bees (and hundreds of human beekeepers) who keep the trees pollinated — and whose very existence is in peril.
