Antimicrobial Copper-Equipped Solaris Urbino Named Bus of the Year 2017  

The Solaris Urbino—the world’s first bus to feature handrails made from antimicrobial copper—has been named Best City Bus of 2017 in the Bus of the Year competition. In addition to its cutting-edge use of copper, the bus is also the first battery-powered vehicle to win this prestigious title.

Screwfix Launches Antimicrobial Copper Switches

Screwfix—the UK’s largest multi-channel supplier of trade tools, accessories and hardware—has launched a range of antimicrobial copper light switches and sockets by award-winning British manufacturer Varilight, making this innovative technology available over the counter, or delivered within 24 hours, for the first time.

Study Highlights Antimicrobial Copper as a ‘No-Touch Disinfection Technology’

New research from a joint US-Chile clinical trial, studying the contribution of antimicrobial copper touch surfaces to environmental hygiene in a paediatric intensive care unit, describes the intervention as a ‘no-touch disinfection technology’ that warrants serious consideration as part of a bundle of infection prevention measures.
