Unemployment Down, Job Ads Up

Winding down for Christmas?

It was a busy quarter in across the Customer Experience industry, with the annual Workforce Management Conference and the AusContact National Conference & Awards events bringing the industry's thought leaders together to discuss emerging trends and technologies. Congratulations to the National Winners .

 

While there are still concerns about the state of our economy and main trading partners, unemployment rates did reduce from 6.3 to 6.2% and Job Advertisements jumped 3.9% in September. For us, we have seen steady Customer Experience roles in Workforce Optimisation and Management Information/Business Intelligence/Reporting were prominent, and Sales roles with Vendors and innovative SAAS products/companies however our Projects roles have been quieter.

 

There are plenty of networking and business opportunities coming up with the Optus Vision and Interactive Intelligence conferences happening during the next quarter

 

So will things be slowing down pre-Christmas? No. Historically, the December quarter is the busiest in the Recruitment and Contracting world as this is the time that companies and Hiring Managers often make Hiring decisions to meet next year's targets, to ensure the right talent is ready to commence their roles in January, otherwise they are aware that a Recruitment process won’t likely commence until late Jan/Feb and therefore that talent won’t start until March/April. We hope this trend continues (of course).
