Message from the Managing Director

The big news of the Quarter was the binding sale of Interactive Intelligence to the PE backed Genesys, and what this means for both companies. InIn has made huge investments to move its on premise CIC platform into a Cloud model (Pure Cloud) and considering Genesys Cloud Platform has generally not receive the reviews (and sales) of its premise/hosted platforms the purchase of InIn may be seen as a solution to penetrating the Cloud market, or to gain more traction in the mid market space (a space it struggles in due to the price tag on its products). It will be interesting to watch how/what the companies integrate and the go to market strategy and pitch.

Last quarter I spoke of continued dialogue around Automation and Artificial Intelligence and that has certainly continued. We have also been asked on several occasions to discuss, and introduce specialists that can provide a roadmap for todays  “digital contact centre” and as one contact aptly put it “show us what is unrealistic though absolutely possible”. Twilio is gaining some hug wins globally, Gamification has come up as has Contact Communities whereby Customers are engaging other customers on a range of things (see WeChat).

Recruitment activity remains positive in WFO/M disciplines and we have seen more Contract roles than Permanent roles of late. Consulting and Business Improvement roles appear to be making a comeback and Owen has brought us a genuine IT recruitment capability that enables us to offer much broader access to specialist Talent.

We expect more of the same in the next Quarter, with recruitment activity in WFO/M, Sales, Consulting & IT keeping us busy. Thanks for reading and we hope you remain busy and engaged for the remainder of 2016.
