SMSI-IGAS event for Medical and Dental students - 23rd July

The Singapore Medical Society of Ireland (SMSI) and IGAS had a joint symposium on a Saturday afternoon at the Marina Bay Financial Center last month.

The speakers were Dr Ong Hean Yee (QUB, Belfast 1994), Dr Mok Yee Ming (UCD, Dublin 1996), Dr Kelvin Koh (TCD, Dublin, 2010), Dr Colum Nolan (RCSI, Dublin, 2001) and Dr Dallan Dargan (QUB, Belfast 2005). The attendees were students from the medical colleges in Ireland, who were back for their summer break.

There was a mix of primary care physicians as well as medical and surgical specialists at various stages of their careers. The speakers shared about their time in Ireland and Dr Koh had wonderful homemade videos set to music. Most shared about their career hits and misses, as well as possible career pathways in Singapore and Ireland.

There were light refreshments later on and many stayed on to chat to each other in small groups. Many thanks to Audrey and Daniel who helped to organise the meet-up at such an excellent venue.
