During the COVID-19 lockdown it is more important than ever to reach out and maintain connections. The Innovation in Isolation CIJ update is aimed at doing just that, to keep our networks up-to-date with our activities, and to share information and media articles, including justice innovations happening around Australia and the world and to complement our regular fortnightly blog and our more extensive bi-monthly newsletter. We hope you find it useful.

THE LATEST ON CIJ RESEARCH

Child Witness Service review
CIJ has completed its review of the Child Witness Service, as part of its Victim Servies Review project, finding it to be a strong and valuable service supporting some of the most vulnerable witnesses in the community. The CIJ has made recommendations to the Department of Justice and Regulation for ways in which this service can be further strengthened and expanded into the future.

Risk & Needs Assessment
CIJ has also
completed work for the Magistrates' Court of Victoria regarding additional ways in which the court can work with perpetrators of family violence who have co-occurring complex needs. The court will be considering the CIJ's recommendations over the coming months with a view to implementing a pilot.
