Children at Stapleford Abbotts Pre-School, part of Stapleford Abbotts Primary Academy, have been studying animals from various regions of the world.
Beginning with animals from cold places, the Pre-School children have been learning about
penguins and polar bears, where they live and what they eat.
They also made discoveries about ice, how it feels and what happens to it when it is taken indoors!
The Pre-School is located in its own room within the school grounds.
Pre-school manager Karen Haley said: "We pride ourselves on offering a welcoming, caring environment where Little Thinkers can grow, play and learn in a stimulating and safe environment.
"Our next stop around the globe will be the desert where we will be learning about camels and why they have humps.
"We are going to make our own snakes from pasta and see if we can wriggle and move like a snake.
"We have also been thinking a lot about sounds around us. We have been going on listening walks to see what we can hear around our environment and listening to the different sounds instruments make, as well as discovering what sounds we can make on different surfaces."
