MP nominates Stellar Healthcare for award
Stellar Healthcare, which runs an evening and weekend GP service across west Essex, has been nominated by Epping Forest MP Eleanor Laing for an NHS70 Parliamentary Award.
Stellar Healthcare has been nominated in the Excellence in Primary Care category.
The awards have been established by NHS England and NHS Improvement.
The purpose of the awards is to engage MPs in celebrating 70 years of the NHS, identifying and highlighting innovative and high-quality care across every constituency in England, and thanking staff for their dedication, hard work and commitment by recognising and honouring their achievements.
Stellar Healthcare launched the Evening and Weekend GP Service in October 2015.
As part of the original Prime Minister’s Challenge Fund – now GP Access Fund – Stellar Healthcare has worked to support GP practices and deliver primary care services to patients.
The west Essex service has delivered more than 85,000 free NHS, GP nurtse and healthcare assistant appointments at six locations over the weekends and in the evenings, and has been shortlisted for a number of awards.
The awards will be presented at the House of Commons on July 4.
