Epping Forest MP Dame Eleanor Laing has welcomed the news that Tesco will continue to provide a cash machine service at the Tesco Express store in Theydon Bois.
In a letter to Dame Eleanor, Tesco chairman John Allan apologised for the inconvenience which has been caused since the ram raid incident, which included the closure of Coppice Row while the building was 'propped' up.
He said Tesco's architects were now designing a permanent repair for the store while the company was "reviewing the ATM housing to make it more secure".
Tesco is running a free shuttle bus service for customers to the Epping High Street store on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the next two weeks (as from this week) after which time the service will be reviewed.
The bus leaves the bus stop opposite the Queen Victoria pub at 10am and returns from the Epping store at noon.
Dame Eleanor said: "I am pleased Tesco have been so positive in their response to this dreadful situation which has been so difficult for everyone.
"I contacted the chairman of Tesco just after the crime was committed and it is good that he is taking into consideration the needs of the whole community in such a positive way."
