Christmas officially arrived in Epping and Buckhurst Hill with a tree festival, market and street entertainment on Friday.
Epping Forest MP Eleanor Laing has praised the organisers of the three events.
She said: "Everyone involved with the organisation of the festive events have certainly ensured that the Christmas season is well and truly here!
"The Christmas Tree Festival at St John's Church in Epping is a wonderful community event which always brings such marvellous colour to the church. I am amazed how much the festival has grown over the years."
Mrs Laing added: "Epping Town Council is to be congratulated for once again organising the Christmas Market and it was great to see that a giant Christmas tree is lighting up the High Street this year."
Mrs Laing joined Epping Mayor councillor Tony Church and other councillors at the market and tree festival.
In Queens Road, Buckhurst Hill, Mrs Laing was accompanied by county councillor Valerie Metcalfe when she met Buckhurst Hill parish councillors and members of Buckhurst Hill Residents Society.
The society organised the event with Buckhurst Hill Parish Council.
Mrs Laing said: "The Queens Road event also gets everyone in the festive mood and it was great to see so many people braving the cold to enjoy the stalls and the entertainment in the library."
The Epping Christmas Tree Festival continues today (Saturday), tomorrow (Sunday) and Monday.
