EU Referendum result and the resignation of Prime Minister
Epping Forest MP Eleanor Laing said: "The aspect of this Referendum which I care most about is that it has been an enormous exercise in democracy.
"Thirty-three million people went out to vote, to express their opinions and to have their voices heard. That's terribly important.
"Obviously there will be disagreements but we now all have a duty to work hard to heal the rifts and to bring people together.
"Here in Epping Forest, in spite of the horrible weather, 77 per cent of the electorate turned out to vote."
Speaking about Prime Minister David Cameron's decision to resign, Mrs Laing said: "He has been a great Prime Minister bringing in reforms that many of us have been working on for years.
"He leaves a very successful legacy and a changed country with a bright future."
Mrs Laing added: "I think it is likely that the Conservative Party in Parliament and in the country will choose someone from the Brexit camp to be the next Prime Minister."
