Epping Forest MP Eleanor Laing is giving her support to Baby Loss Awareness Week (October 9-15).
Baby Loss Awareness Week is an opportunity for bereaved parents and their families and friends to unite with others across the world to commemorate their babies’ lives.
It is also an opportunity to raise awareness about the issues surrounding pregnancy and baby loss in the UK, and push for tangible improvements in services, support, research or policy around bereavement support to let the public and key stakeholders know what charities and other supportive organisations are doing on bereavement support around pregnancy and baby loss.
The charities leading Baby Loss Awareness Week provide support to anyone affected by pregnancy loss and the death of a baby, and work with health professionals and services to improve care. Together we are committed to raising awareness of pregnancy and baby loss, identifying how preventable deaths can be reduced, and improving support for all those affected.
Last year, Baby Loss Awareness Week featured events across the UK, including a parliamentary debate about loss in Westminster.
This is the second year that Baby Loss Awareness Week is being featured within the Houses of Parliament.
More information on the Baby Loss Awareness Week is available at https://babyloss-awareness.org/
A parliamentary debate on Baby Loss is scheduled for today (Tuesday).
