Epping Forest MP Eleanor Laing plants tree at Ivy Chimneys Primary School as part of school's celebrations for Queen's 90th birthday
A tree to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday has been planted at Ivy Chimneys Primary School, Epping, by Epping Forest MP Eleanor Laing.
Mrs Laing - and Epping Mayor Les Burrows - were invited to the school's Queen's birthday celebrations (Friday) which saw the children parade round the playground in their specially-made crowns and wearing red, white and blue clothes.
After the planting of a hornbeam tree, which replaces a weeping willow, the children sang Happy Birthday to Her Majesty.
Epping Forest MP Eleanor Laing said: "Ivy Chimneys Primary School should be really proud of their efforts.
"It was really wonderful to see the children marching and wearing their crowns, which were magnificent, and their red, white and blue clothes to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday.
"It was a great pleasure for me to plant the new hornbeam tree in the school grounds and very important that the children appreciate the value of trees to our environment."
